Etiquette

Please take note of the following class and studio etiquette to ensure that you and your fellow participants get the most out of each class experience.

Clothing
Tops – We REQUIRE that you wear a top that covers armpits. The Hammocks are placed near or under your armpits often during class.
Your shirt must have at least short sleeves. NO tank tops will be allowed in the Hammocks.
Cotton or cotton blend fabric is best (non-slippery).
Recommended tops are cotton t-shirts or 3/4 length or long sleeves with a sports bra for females.
Remember, you will be upside down so don’t wear a top that is too loose or you may choose to tuck in your top.
Unfortunately, no exceptions will be made to clothing requirements for the comfort and safety of all participants. T-shirts are available for purchase at the studio.

Bottoms – Leggings, yoga pants or sweatpants can be worn for bottoms.
We recommend that they are form fitting and are not a satin type fabric.
Some synthetic fabrics are very slippery; cotton blends are prefered.
If wearing leggings/tights, please make certain they are opaque (non-see through).
If wearing sweatpants, tight around cuff of legs is best but not required.
Note that certain poses may be uncomfortable if you are wearing bottoms that do not cover the backs of the knees.

Socks – Socks are also REQUIRED to be worn.
Please wear clean grip socks for the greatest success in class.
Regular socks may be slippery (and unsafe) in certain poses.
Unfortunately, no exceptions will be made to the sock requirement for the comfort and safety of all participants. Grip socks are available for purchase at the studio.
No shoes are permitted in the studio; all shoes are to be removed at front reception.

All clothing must be free of zippers, snaps, belts, buckles, clips, velcro, etc. as these will damage the Hammocks.

Jewellery
No jewellery can be worn to class. It will snag the Hammocks, thus compromising safety. If jewellery (rings or piercings) cannot be removed, they must be covered in tape or bandage prior to participating.

Equipment
Your individual Harrison AntiGravity® Hammock is provided!
No need to bring a yoga mat.

Phones
Participants must turn off their phones during class.
No phones are permitted in the studio practice space.

Nutrition
We recommend coming to class with something light in your stomach to ward off any dizziness.
We do recommend you be smart with your food choices and do not recommend coming to a class after consuming a large meal.

Hygiene and Hydration
It is encouraged to have a bottle of water nearby during class.
Stay hydrated to keep your muscles supple and help in eliminating toxins.
It is best to empty the bladder before class.
Please no heavy perfumes, colognes or other scents.
Please no excessive makeup. Keep it minimal to keep it off the Hammocks.
If previously attending another fitness class, participants must dry off, cool down and preferably shower before class.
All fingernails must be manicured and smooth. Sharp nails will snag the Hammock, thus compromising safety.

Arrive on Time
We ask that you arrive 15 minutes before your 1st class so we can get you signed in, settled in our space and answer any questions you may have.
Please don’t be late. Our classes are designed to start together and end together to be respectful of our participants, schedules and teachers.
If you have pre-registered for a class we ask that you arrive 10 minutes before the class starts to ensure your spot.
If you are not present 10 minutes before the scheduled start of the class we may offer your spot to a student who is here on the waitlist.

Health
You must complete a PAR-Q form prior to your first class. If the questionnaire concludes that medical consultation and advice is required, we have the right to request a doctor’s approval for your participation in any classes.
Please inform the instructor if you have any contraindications, injuries or illnesses.
It is always recommended to consult with a medical professional prior to any exercise regimen and be sure that you are cleared to safely attend any fitness class.

Lastly, give yourself kudos for trying something new!
